Ask for directions in Bangalore. Left is Left with a long oooooo at the end and so is right. Sometimes it sounds like a song is being sung – Left-ooo, Right-ooo (remember its not the “oooo” as for ullu but O a lot many times). Quite interesting!! Left and Right have been Kannadized.

In the financial parlance, understandably the business (or financial) years are pronounced as O8 (O eight and not zero eight), O9 and so on abbreviated from FY08, FY09. Why do then people say O10 (O ten) and O11 for FY10 and FY11, and not just 10 and 11 or simply FY10 and FY11. Most of [...]
